If you love a rustic ambiance, then Farmhouse at Roger Gardens is most definitely for you. The restaurant is very open spaced and more situated outdoors, if it’s cold they do have covers go down and offer blankets on the chairs to keep you warm. Parking is very ample but the location at night may be difficult for some to find so allow yourself a little extra time. The restaurant is very warm and inviting, as well as the hosts and workers. Everyone here is so friendly and more than happy to offer advice. Service this evening was on point and our waiter never missed a beat.
We started off by ordering the market soup of the night, which was the potato and leek soup, we also opted for the vegan option with no cheese. The soup was light, yet flavorful and not overwhelming as most places add cream making this soup very rich and heavy. We also went with the Quinoa & Kale Salad which was very appetizing and refreshing at the same time. The salad consisted of tangerines, roasted leeks, dried cranberries, golden beets, candied pecans, and a light vinaigrette. The portion was also very generous and filling.
For my entrée I went with the suggested Herb Roast Jidori Chicken, I typically don’t order chicken often at restaurants since it always ends up being quite dry. This was not the case at Farmhouse, my food came out extremely hot that it was still steaming. The chicken was very moist with a nice crisp sear on the skin. All of the veggies were roasted nicely and the pan gravy was once again flavorful without being too much.
We also went with the Farmhouse Vegetable Plate which consisted of spaghetti squash, maple bourbon butternut squash mash, white and green bean salad, and lastly Brussel sprouts with roasted cipollini onions. Food was all very fresh and delicious.
I have to say the thing I like most about Farmhouse is the food is of great quality, the service is wonderful, but most importantly the food is a lot healthier and they’re cooking with seasonal products. Nothing is overwhelming in taste and you don’t leave feeling sluggish. I would highly recommend farmhouse as it has become one of my new favorites for healthier fresh in season items. I was too full for dessert this time but their options looked amazing. I hope you give Farmhouse a try and let me know what your thoughts are and favorite dishes.
